Bright & Clear Smoothie

For clear, radiant, age-defying skin this summer, try this nutrient-packed smoothie:

- 1 cup filtered water

- 1 TBSP fresh lemon juice

- 2 tsp flax oil

- 1 small banana

- 1 cups frozen raspberries

- 1 cup chopped pineapple

- 4 cups spinach

- (Optional) 1 serving protein powder

Here’s what it does:

Lemon - alkalinizes your water while balancing the PH levels of your skin (super helpful for dry skin, psoriasis and eczema).

Flax - the richest vegetable source of omega-3s, flax is a powerhouse anti-inflammatory (helpful for irritation, redness, rosacea, acne, psoriasis).  Your skin needs oil to stay supple and healthy!

Bananas - a powerhouse fruit for the skin!  Potassium moisturizes dehydrated skin, manganese and antioxidants protect the skin from free radicals, and high vitamin C & B6 boost elasticity in the skin.

Raspberries - contain anthocyanin, a collagen-building, circulation-strengthening, UV-protecting powerhouse.  Raspberries are also high in omega-3s, omega-6s, and antioxidants for skin protection.

Pineapple - high in vitamin C, which helps to boost skin firmness.

Spinach - this nutrient dense superfood provides antioxidants, protein, and helps detoxify our bodies.

Protein powder - protein is essential for generating healthy skin and nails.  For skin health I personally recommend whey protein, which has collagen & amino acids to help maintain skin’s elasticity and firmness.  OR try your favorite plant-based protein powder.
